Kwaku Jyamfi ’18 Brings Clean Energy to Communities Around the World

In Ghana, many families uses noxious diesel generators to power their homes and charcoal to light their ovens and stoves. Kwaku Jyamfi ’18, who majored in chemical engineering at the College of Engineering & Computer Science, hopes to change that. He co-founded Farm to Flame Energy which is now scaling production of smokeless and odorless biomass-powered generators for use in communities around the globe.

A Space to Celebrate the Global African Experience

For 20 years, the College of Arts and Sciences’ Africa Initiative has created a multidisciplinary space for students to come together with faculty to explore a variety of topics related to the political, economic, historical and social aspects of Africa, Africans and descendants of Africans. The initiative aims to renew interest in Africa through a variety of events from guest speakers to community outreach.

Santita Ebangwese ’19, G’20 Journey to France

Santita Ebangwese ’19, G’20 helped the Orange to their first-ever NCAA volleyball tournament appearance. She was selected as one of Syracuse University students awarded a Fulbright U.S. student study grant. She now plays for Evreux, a professional team in France.
