Peer Office Hours Resume Monday

Math and Engineering Peer Office Hours hosted by the AEW Facilitators will continue on March 19th through the end of the semester as scheduled on Guidebook

AEW Facilitator Recruitment

The Academic Excellence Workshop (AEW) Program is currently accepting Facilitator applications for 2018-2019. Applicants must be full-time engineering and computer science undergraduates in good academic standing with an overall GPA>= 3.0. Applications can be requested at aewapp@ecs.syr.edu. Submission Deadline is Thursday, 3/29, Interviews will be held on Saturday, 3/31. For more information, email aew@ecs.syr.edu.

Pledge of the Computing Professional Sign-Ups

CS and SIS Seniors graduating in 2018 are eligible to be inducted into the Pledge of the Computing Professional- a symbolic organization that seeks to promote professionalism and integrity among those with a Computer Science background. The Induction Ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 30th in LSB 001. Students who wish to accept the Pledge pay a one-time initiation fee of $10.00 to cover membership and a lapel pin with a matrix with the word “Honor” encoded in ASCII. Interested students must register at the front desk of the Student Success Center in 121 Link Hall between the hours of 9 am – 4pm by Tuesday, March 27th.

Order of the Engineer Sign-Ups

Engineering Seniors graduating in 2018 are eligible to be inducted into the Order of the Engineer – a symbolic organization that seeks to promote professionalism among engineers. It is a prestigious fellowship of engineers dedicated to the practice, teaching and administration of their profession. The Induction Ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 30th in LSB 001. Students who wish to accept the Obligation of the Engineer pay a one-time initiation fee of $10.00 to cover membership and ring cost. Interested students must register at the front desk of the Student Success Center in 121 Link Hall between the hours of 9 am – 4 pm by Tuesday, March 27th.

General Announcements and Deadlines

Deadline Extended to Apply for Invent@SU!

This summer, Invent@SU returns to transform undergrads into inventors as they design, prototype, and pitch original devices. The program is open to all Syracuse University undergraduate students. Now, students have a second chance to be a part of the program.  The application deadline for the Summer 2018 invention accelerators has been extended to March 23. Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis, so students that are interested should apply online as soon as possible at invent.syr.edu/apply.

SPARK Innovation Competition

WHAT IS SPARK?  A think-tank style competition that gives students the chance to solve real-world problems with real-world engineers and scientists working alongside real-world industry representatives. CASH PRIZES – 1st Place: $2,400; 2nd Place: $1,200; 3rd Place: $600.  Apply Online — Hurry!  Spaces are limited!

This button will check all of the Libraries’ resources to find a copy.
