Funding Opportunities

For Students:

Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF)

  • The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education.
  • Visit link for more information on deadlines.

Outstanding Chapter Award (IEEE)

  • Nov 14;The IEEE Computer Society has initiated the Outstanding Chapter Award to recognize the Computer Society professional section chapter and student branch chapter that are judged as having provided their membership with the best overall membership experience.

National THSOA Scholarships (THSOA)

  • Nov 15; THSOA encourages college/university students to consider a career in hydrographic surveying. THSOA provides student scholarships in order to assist students with academic costs.

Scholar Awards P.E.O International (IEHF)

  • Nov 20; P.E.O. Scholar Awards are one-time, competitive, merit-based awards for women of the United States and Canada who are pursuing a doctoral level degree at an accredited college or university. In addition to recognizing and encouraging excellence in higher education, these awards provide partial support for study and research for women who will make significant contributions in their varied fields of endeavor.

For Faculty:

Big Data Innovation Challenge (World Bank)

  • Nov 9; The World Bank is announcing a global call for big data solutions and prototypes that address climate change-related issues pertaining to food security, nutrition, landscapes, forestry and watersheds. The Bank is seeking innovative solutions and working prototypes that leverage big data to understand and address the impacts of climate change on food security and nutrition.

Computer and Network Systems (CNS): Core Program (NSF)

Nov 15; CISE’s Division of Computer and Network Systems (CNS) supports research and education projects that develop new knowledge in two core programs:

  • Computer Systems Research (CSR) program; and
  • Networking Technology and Systems (NeTS) program.
