Join Excelerators!  Share Your Orange Pride With Prospective Students!

The ECS Excelerators serve as the student ambassadors for the College of Engineering and Computer Science.  They assist in our undergraduate recruitment efforts by taking prospective students to shadow a class, taking prospective students to chat over lunch in a dining hall, and meeting with prospective students and families on open house days.  We are having an interest/training meeting on Wednesday, September 27, at 7pm in Shemin Auditorium (Shafer Art Building).  We’ll have pizza!

Excelerators must be enthusiastic and must enjoy talking about SU.  They must maintain a GPA of 2.5 of higher.  Current first-year students are welcome and encouraged to join!  Please complete this form to express interest in Excelerators and to let us know if you will attend the meeting.  See Jonathan Hoster in Link 123 or email him with any questions.

Apply to be an Orientation Leader (OL)!  Deadline is 10/12/17

Orientation Leaders (OLs) serve as ambassadors for Syracuse Welcome to help incoming students transition to Syracuse University. They assist with move-in, help facilitate large scale events, and serve as a resource for all Orientation and Syracuse related questions. OLs must work well in a team, possess strong communication skills, be responsible, punctual, and enthusiastic about SU. OLs cannot be Resident Advisors (RAs) or Pathfinders due to the conflicting time commitments. Orientation Leaders are also expected to come back to campus early to receive training. Applications are due by October 12th and there is a mandatory group interview process on Sunday, October 15th from 1-4pm.

Success Tip of the Week

Ask for Help!

Don’t be afraid to ask for help – and don’t wait until it’s too late: Even if you’re not having difficulties in class, you should still connect with your professors, TAs, and other support resources.  It is also important to communicate with your professor if you don’t fully understand something in class.  Faculty and staff are not able to help, if we don’t know that you need it!  Looking for academic support?  Stop by the Student Success Center in Link 121.
