To our new students, we are excited you have joined our ECS community!  And to our returning students, we’re looking forward to another great year!  This e-newsletter will be sent to your email every week that school is in session and will provide you with important information about upcoming events, announcements, and deadlines.  If you haven’t already added the ECS guide to your Syracuse University Guides app, be sure to do so to stay connected to the Student Success Center!

Fall AEW Registration Open

Academic Excellence Workshop (AEW) is a one-credit P/F course that provides supplemental support for various math and introductory ECS courses. Sign-up via MySlice utilizing this form as a reference.

Trivia Night!  Thursday, 8/30, 7-9pm, Link 369

Rt44Come hang out with your ECS peers and play Trivia! Make some new friends and test your knowledge!  Snacks will be provided, and there will be prizes.  

ECS Engagement Week – September 4th-7th

Learn about some of the many ways you can get involved at SU!  Representatives from ECS student organizations will be tabling in the Link Lobby on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Looking for something outside of ECS?  The Campus-Wide Involvement Fair will be held on the Quad on Wednesday.  Be sure to stop by each day for more information and a chance to win prizes!

Attend the CNY Biotech Concept to Commercialization Boot Camp

This fall, CNY Biotech Accelerator will host a Concept to Commercialization Boot Camp for innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The Boot Camp—made up of two workshops—promotes the development and commercialization of innovative biotech products and services. Registration is required, but there is no cost to attend for Syracuse University faculty, students, and staff.

Workshop 1: September 13-14  
Topics include: product design and development, market landscape, making the go/no go decision, advisory boards, innovation steps, LLCs, IP, startup finance, team development, developing a business plan

Workshop 2: October 18-19 
Topics include: product development and testing, risk management, student capstone design assistance, exports, industry collaboration, biotech startups panel discussion, university entrepreneur programs, developing a pitch presentation, incubator programs.
