For Faculty:

Science of Science and Innovation Policy Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (NSF)

  • Feb 9; The Science of Science & Innovation Policy (SciSIP) program supports research designed to advance the scientific basis of science and innovation policy. The program funds research to develop models, analytical tools, data and metrics that can be applied in the science policy decision making process and concern the use and allocation of scarce scientific resources.

Training-based Workforce Development for Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (NSF)

  • Feb 14; The overarching goals of this program are to (i) prepare, nurture, and grow the national scientific research workforce for creating, utilizing, and supporting advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) that enables potentially transformative fundamental science and engineering research and contributes to the Nation’s overall economic competiveness and security; (ii) ensure broad adoption of CI tools, methods, and resources by the fundamental science and engineering research community to enable new modes of discovery; and (iii) integrate core literacy and discipline-appropriate advanced skills in advanced CI as well as computational and data science and engineering into the Nation’s educational curriculum/instructional material fabric spanning undergraduate and graduate courses.

Algorithms for Threat Detection (NSF)

  • Feb 20; The Algorithms for Threat Detection (ATD) program will support research projects to develop the next generation of mathematical and statistical algorithms for analysis of large spatiotemporal datasets with application to quantitative models of human dynamics. The program is a partnership between the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA).

Integrative Strategies for Understanding Neural and Cognitive Systems (NSF)

  • Feb 20; The program focuses on four aspects of neural and cognitive systems that are current targets of converging interdisciplinary interests. NCS projects must advance the foundations of one or more of these focus areas, as described further within the solicitation:
    • Neuroengineering and Brain-Inspired Concepts and Designs
    • Individuality and Variation
    • Cognitive and Neural Processes in Realistic, Complex Environments
    • Data-Intensive Neuroscience and Cognitive Science
