Data Science Fellowship

(Early deadline July 2, Regular deadline July 9) The Data Incubator is a Cornell-funded data science training organization. It runs a free advanced 8-week fellowship (think data science bootcamp) for PhDs looking to enter industry. A variety of innovative companies partner with The Data Incubator for their hiring and training needs, including LinkedIn, Genentech, Capital One, Pfizer, and many others. Master’s and PhD current and graduated students, as well as faculty and post-docs are eligible. Familiarity with at least one programming language is required.

GENIUS NY

(Oct 1) GENIUS NY is the world’s largest business accelerator competition for unmanned systems. In addition to the large investments, the program offers programming, mentors, incubation space, resources and connections to some of the leading UAS professionals.

Quadratec Cares ‘Energize The Environment’ Grant Program

(Oct 30) Quadratec, an aftermarket supplier for 4×4 vehicles is offering two $3,500 environmental grants per year – one each in the spring and fall – to an individual or group currently pursuing a program or initiative designed to benefit our environment. Example projects include Earth Study missions, Sustainable Land Management activities, Community environmental educational projects.

Beckman Foundation Accepting LOIs for Young Investigator Program

(LOI- Aug 6) The annual program is intended to provide research support to promising young faculty members in the early stages of an academic career in the chemical and life sciences, with a focus on methods, instruments, and materials that can open up new avenues of scientific research.

DoD Kidney Cancer, Technology Development

(Sept 26) The KCRP Technology Development Award is a product-driven award mechanism intended to advance the development of technologies to aid kidney cancer clinical and patient outcomes, including prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, or quality of life.

E2 Energy to Educate (Constellation, An Exelon Company)

(Oct 1) Through the E2 Energy to Educate grant program, Constellation offers students opportunities to experience problem-solving today’s and tomorrow’s energy challenges. Grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded in support of local community projects designed to inspire students to think differently about energy.
