International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition: Student Class

  • Mar 7, 2018; To recognize innovation and excellence in aluminum extrusion design, the ET Foundation and the Aluminum Extruders Council conduct the International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition. The Design Competition showcases innovation in design and engineering while recognizing talented designers and engineers for their ingenuity and creativity in designing products and systems that feature extruded aluminum.

Ronald B. Linsky Fellowship for Outstanding Water Research

  • March 1, 2018; It is awarded to an outstanding master’s or doctoral graduate student in a U.S. university whose research pertains to water, including water supply, water resources, water quality, and technologies and treatment.

Training-based Workforce Development for Advanced Cyberinfrastructure

  • Feb 14,2018; In the near future, access to advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources within a comprehensive and highly interoperable ecosystem will be commonplace
  • The Cyber Training program intends to address emerging skills required in preparation and career growth of the scientific and engineering research workforce for innovation, development, maintenance, and utilization of such an advanced CI ecosystem.

National Robotics Initiative 2.0: Ubiquitous Collaborative Robots (NSF)

  • Feb 20, 2018; The NRI-2.0 program builds upon the original NRI program to support fundamental research in the United States that will accelerate the development and use of collaborative robots (co-robots) that work beside or cooperatively with people. The focus of the NRI-2.0 program is on ubiquity, which in this context means seamless integration of co-robots to assist humans in every aspect of life.

Atmospheric System Research (DOE)

  • Feb 28, 2018; ASR expresses its interest in research grant applications for observational, data analysis, and/or modeling studies that use observations supported by CESD, including the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) scientific user facility and the ASR program, to improve understanding and model representation of specified aerosol processes, high-latitude atmospheric processes, and ice cloud processes.

Implementations for Data Intensive Research in the Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (NSF)

  • Feb 28, 2018; As part of NSF’s Harnessing the Data Revolution (HDR), the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) seeks to develop user-friendly large-scale next-generation data resources and relevant analytic techniques to advance fundamental research in SBE areas of study.

Environmental System Science (DOE)

  • Mar 1, 2018; The Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program within the Office of Science (SC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) hereby announces its interest in receiving research applications for Environmental System Science (ESS). As part of the ESS program, the Terrestrial Ecosystem Science activity seeks to improve the understanding and representation of terrestrial ecosystems in ways that advance Earth system model parameterizations and capabilities.
