Apply for Spring Break in Silicon Valley!

Spring Break in Silicon Valley (SBinSV) is designed to give students a first hand look at the companies, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists, and their way of life (both personal and professional) in San Francisco and California’s Silicon Valley. This program is open to students from all majors, all SU schools and colleges, and all degree programs. Students typically visit between 20 and 25 companies over the course of the 5-day trip and have a chance to interact with alumni and do a bit of sightseeing along the way. The exact makeup of the trip visits varies from year to year, and depends on input from participating students.  View details and application information here.  The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 19. Contact Julie Walas Huynh at jlwalas@syr.edu with any questions.

Success Tip of the Week

Prepping for Finals – Set a Schedule and Stick to It!

Make a list or master calendar of all the dates, times, and locations of all your exams, as well as the due dates and where to submit of all assignments you have left for the semester. It can be helpful to color-code this information – assign each course a color and only use that color pen to mark important dates for that course.  Now, work backwards and make a plan for how to accomplish all of the tasks you have left.  Block off your study sessions on your calendar.  If your TA or professor has extra help sessions, attend them.  If you would like assistance with or a template for creating an end-of-semester schedule, email Sarah smmack@syr.edu.
