Funding Opportunities For Students: Josephine de Karman Fellowships - Jan 31; DeKarman fellowships are open to students in any discipline, including international students, who are currently enrolled in a university or college located within the United States.
TEECA Student Leadership Award - Dec 01; This is the highest honor given to a TEECC/ITEEA student member. It is based upon outstanding dedication to ITEEA and TEECC (Technology and Engineering Educators Collegiate Council), academic achievement, and professional involvement. The students are required to be members of TEECC/ITEEA.
- Please visit link for more information on membership.
National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship - Dec 31; NDSEG Fellowships are designed to encourage baccalaureate recipients to enter graduate school and ultimately gain doctorates in Science, Technology, and Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
For Faculty : Mathematical Sciences Infrastructure Program (NSF) - Dec 06; the major aim of the Division of Mathematics Infrastructure Program is to foster the continuing health of the mathematical sciences research community as a whole. Hence, the program supports projects that positively influence the entire community, most often those cutting across multiple sub-disciplines.
Quantum Information Science - Dec 7; Quantum Information Science (QIS) supports theoretical and experimental proposals that explore quantum applications to new computing paradigms or that foster interactions between physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists that push the frontiers of quantum-based information, transmission, and manipulation.
Elementary Particle Physics – Theory - Dec 7; The Elementary Particle Theory program encompasses different theoretical tools for understanding the interaction of elementary particles at different energy scales. It supports both formal string theory as well as string-theory-inspired model building. Proposals in mathematical physics that are relevant for string theory and/or quantum field theory are also relevant for this program.
Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology – Theory - Dec 7; The Astrophysics and Cosmology Theory program supports proposals that primarily are involved with theoretical particle astrophysics and big-bang cosmology as well as more speculative string theory-inspired cosmologies.
Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program: Instrument Acquisition or Development - Feb 5, 2018; The goal of the Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program is to increase access to shared-use/multi-user instrumentation for scientific and engineering research and research training. The MRI Program provides for state-of-the-art instruments through acquisition from vendors and development of next-generation research instruments that advance the state-of-the-art in science and engineering research.
Dimensions of Biodiversity FY2018 (NSF) - Feb 28, 2018; the goal of the Dimensions of Biodiversity campaign is to transform, by 2020, how we describe and understand the scope and role of life on Earth.
- This campaign promotes novel integrative approaches to fill the most substantial gaps in our understanding of the diversity of life on Earth. It takes a broad view of biodiversity, and focuses on the intersection of genetic, phylogenetic, and functional dimensions of biodiversity.
Investigator-Initiated Research Projects - The Division is comprised of disciplinary programs covering experimental and theoretical research in the following major subfields of physics: Accelerator Science; Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics; Computational Physics; Elementary Particle Physics; Gravitational Physics; Integrative Activities in Physics; Nuclear Physics; Particle Astrophysics; Physics of Living Systems; Plasma Physics (supported under a separate solicitation); and Quantum Information Science.
