  • Sept 28; The NRA covers all aspects of basic and applied supporting research and technology in space and Earth sciences.

Environmental Research and Monitoring: Planning for Environmental Change in New York State (NYSERDA)

  • Oct 3; NYSERDA seeks proposals from knowledgeable and objective organizations or teams interested in conducting a comprehensive, collaborative, energy-related environmental research and monitoring planning effort. The goal will be to develop an appropriately-scaled research and monitoring plan that will inform and provide accountability for State and federal energy-related environmental policies.

Remote Energy Management (REM) Program (NYSERDA)

  •   Oct 30; The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking creative proposals from Remote Energy Management (REM) service providers (Vendors) that will utilize whole-building level energy data analytics to support energy management, provide insights on energy savings opportunities, and carry out implementation support activities and/or services that will help customers leverage those insights to achieve energy savings.

Energy Storage Technology and Product Development (NYSERDA)

  •  Nov 2; New York State’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) initiative envisions Distributed Energy Resources, including energy storage, as an integral part of transforming the grid to one with more renewable energy and flexible consumption.

Generation 3 Concentrating Solar Power Systems (DOE)

  • Nov 3; This FOA intends to develop integrated thermal system solutions to overcome the temperature limitations of current CSP systems, while lowering capital costs by enabling the use of advanced turbines and achieving a higher overall system efficiency in converting solar thermal energy into electricity.

Active Social Engineering Defense (ASED)

  •   Nov 09; DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of automated defense against social engineering attacks. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

Carbon Storage Assurance Facility Enterprise (CarbonSAFE): Storage Complex Facility

  •  Feb 28; The objectives of this phase include and extend the pre-feasibility work, focusing on one or multiple specific reservoirs within the defined storage complex, and comprising efforts in data collection; geologic analysis; identification of contractual and regulatory requirements and development of plans to satisfy them; subsurface modeling to support geologic characterization, risk assessment, and monitoring; and public outreach.

NOI: Medium/Heavy-Duty, On-Road Natural Gas Engine Research and Development (DOE)

  •  The objective is to address barriers to adoption of natural gas vehicles through early-stage research on medium- and heavy-duty on-road engine technologies.  The programmatic goal is to enable natural gas engines that can cost-effectively achieve diesel-like efficiency while meeting current and future emissions standards.

NOI: Solar Desalination (DOE)

  • This FOA supports research, development, and potential demonstration of early stage technologies that can significantly reduce the costs of desalination powered by solar thermal energy.
