Invent@SU launches a new startup, now valued at $5 million

Tairan Li ’19 and Chao Huang ’19 designed a hands-free teeth-cleaning and -whitening device at the College of Engineering and Computer Science’s Invent@SU program 18 months ago. Now, these two College of Visual and Performing Arts students have a company valued at $5 million—and they couldn’t have done it without the Syracuse alumni network!

Maxwell dean teaches, visits universities in China and Thailand

The Maxwell School co-sponsored the 2018 International Conference on Public Administration at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu. Dean David Van Slyke, shown here with UESTC vice president Yong Zeng, delivered a keynote and led a group of Syracuse University leaders in exploring ways to partner with universities in China. The dean also taught an executive education course in Bangkok, Thailand.
